Remove the whiskers from the shrimps and wash well (the shrimps not the whiskers). Salt them and allow to drain. Heat the oil and put in the finely chopped onions. As soon as the onions have softened, add the tomato juice, the salt and the pepper. Allow the sauce to boil for about 10-15 minutes. Then add 2-3 cups of water and the rice. When the rice is almost boiling, add the shrimps. Allow to boil together for about 15 minutes until the water has been absorbed and according to your preference as to the softness of the rice.
